Agreement to Terms 

By placing an order with Sycamore Creations, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms of purchase. 

  1. Definitions
  • “We”, “Us”, “Our” refers to Sycamore Creations. 
  • “Customer”, “You”, “Your” refers to the person or business purchasing goods and/or services from us. 
  • “Garden Pod” refers to any garden building, pod, or structure supplied and/or installed by us. 
  • “Contract” means the agreement between you and us for the supply and installation of a Garden Pod. 

 

  1. Scope of Services

We specialise in the manufacture, supply, and installation of garden pods. The exact specification, price, and installation date will be confirmed in writing as part of your quotation and booking. 

Any additional works not included in the agreed quotation will be charged separately and must be agreed in writing before commencement. 

 

  1. Quotations
  • All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. 
  • Quotations are based on the information provided by the customer regarding site conditions and access. 
  • We reserve the right to revise a quotation if incorrect or incomplete information has been provided. 

 

  1. Booking, Deposits & Payment
  • deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your installation date. 
  • By paying the deposit, this agrees to the booking being made and acceptance that you agree to all of the terms and conditions listed within this document. 
  • The remaining balance is due on the day of installation. 
  • Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered. 
  • Ownership of the Garden Pod remains with Sycamore Creations until full payment has been received. 

We reserve the right to withhold installation or delivery if payment terms are not met. 

  1. Cooling-Off Period & Cancellations

Cooling-Off Period 

  • In accordance with UK consumer law, customers have the right to cancel within 14 days of placing the order. 
  • If cancellation occurs within this period the deposit will be refunded. 

Cancellations After the Cooling-Off Period 

  • If you cancel after the 14-day cooling-off period, the deposit will not be refunded, as materials will have been ordered. 
  • Installation dates can be changed free of charge if more than 14 days’ notice is provided. 
  1. Installation Dates & Delays
  • Installation dates are subject to suitable weather conditions. 
  • We reserve the right to reschedule installation where weather or site conditions would compromise safety or workmanship. 
  • We will make reasonable efforts to agree a new installation date as soon as possible. 

We are not liable for delays caused by weather, access issues, or factors beyond our control. 

 

  1. Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for ensuring: 

  • Groundworks/Base 
  • A suitable, level base is in place prior to installation. 
  • Where agreed at the time of booking, we may carry out minimal ground preparation for an additional fee. 
  • Access 
  • Clear, safe, and adequate access to the garden for materials and installers. 
  • Permissions 
  • All necessary planning permission, building regulations approval, and compliance with local authority or covenant requirements. 

We are not responsible for delays, additional costs, or defects arising from inadequate groundworks, access, or permissions. 

If we arrive to install and there is not suitable access or appropriate groundworks/ base, then the installation will not be able to go ahead and further charges will apply. 

Post installation, the customer is responsible for ensuring: 

  • They do not move the pod from the initial location in which it was installed.  
  • Wood treatment is applied on an annual basis to keep up the protection of the products – (wood is a natural product and will expand, contract and may absorb moisture, therefore regular treatment is essential) 
  • Suitable ventilation is required particularly during colder months (failure to do so will result in condensation/ mould). 
  • Keep foliage, trees, branches away from your Garden Pod to prevent sap damage or corrosion.  
  • Roofing materials (shingles, timber, featheredge) may need replacing over time and are not covered under adverse weather.  
  1. Variations & Additional Work

Any changes requested after booking that affect materials, design, or labour may result in additional charges and/or changes to the installation date. All variations must be agreed in writing. 

 

  1. Additional Products 
  • If a PVC Cover is purchased with the Garden Pod, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the Pod gets adequate ventilation to prevent the build up of moisture and residue. It is recommended that the PVC Cover is removed when not in use, it should remain partially open if being used over a number of hours and also not be fully closed if a heat source is being used within the pod.  
  • If a free bundle is provided with the Garden Pod, the customer is responsible for safe usage of these products such as bio-ethanol fire. These bundles are also subject to availability.  
  1. Moisture and Ventilation
  • All Garden Pods are built and installed using pressure treated C24 timber and Class 3 Plywood.  
  • Sycamore Creations are not liable for moisture issues arising from improper ventilation or siting in shaded/ damp areas.  
  1. 11. Warranty & Defects
  • We provide a 12-month workmanship warranty from the date of installation. 
  • This warranty covers defects arising from faulty workmanship. 
  • It does not cover: 
  • Natural movement of timber 
  • Wear and tear 
  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or lack of maintenance 
  • Damage caused by extreme weather (e.g. storms, floods) 
  • Issues arising from ground movement or inadequate bases 
  • Electrical or plumbing work carried out by third parties 
  • Inadequate ventilation from improper PVC cover use. 
  • If the Pod is moved from the location it was originally installed. 
  • Natural wood behaviour is expected (cracks, expansion etc) and not considered a defect.  

This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights under UK consumer law. 

  1. 12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
